Family Weekends

Parents tell us they wish they could come to Camp too! Well, parents…here’s your chance!

Come and experience for yourself what Camp Tawingo is all about! Join us for one of our Family Weekends - Spring and Fall. The fun begins on Friday evening and continues until Sunday afternoon. Tawingo staff provide meals and snacks, programming, and leadership throughout the weekend. Your family’s cabin is your home for the weekend, delicious meals are served family-style in our Dining Hall, caring and experienced staff are on hand to lead you through the activities and enhance your enjoyment, and the weekend is packed with camp programs that are suitable for the whole family. The weekend schedule is busy but casual - you can play together as a family, get to know and spend time with other families, and/or join the whole group for an All-Camp game! We have a large fleet of 10 person and 2 person canoes. Travel by canoe around Lake Vernon as a family!

Kayaking

Grab a paddle, PFD, and a kayak, and marvel at the beauty of Muskoka from the waters of Lake Vernon!

Hiking

Our 270 acres include many trails to choose from. Take in a breath-taking view of Lake Vernon from atop Eagle Mountain, visit beaver dams, and walk along beautiful trails that explore forests, meadows, ravines, and streams.

Sports & Games

Basketball, tennis, badminton, soccer, football, Gaga Ball, 9-square, Volleyball, Mini Putt, and more! We have a large Sportsfield with all of the sports equipment you need.

Arts & Crafts

Bracelets, yarn-weaving, puppets, nature mobiles, tie dye, and more! Our Creation Station has a wide variety of crafting materials so that you can let your creativity lead the way!

Library Board Games

Bring on the family fun with tabletop games from our library! Cards, Checkers, Chess, Clue, Connect Four, Cranium, Guess Who, Monopoly, Pictionary, and so many more!

Sing Song

Sing Song has been a favourite activity for every generation of Camp Tawingo campers and staff, and the tradition continues during Family Weekends. Sing along to catchy Camp tunes, led by experienced song leaders.

Talent Night

An entertaining evening that showcases the many talents of our Family Weekend participants. No talent is too big or too small at Tawingo—we celebrate them all!

Accommodation

You and your family will stay in one of our camper cabins. Cabins can comfortably accommodate 8-10 individuals. Each cabin has its own washroom, with a toilet and shower. The main space includes a sink, bunk beds, shelves for clothing and belongings, and windows for cross-ventilation. All cabins are supplied with hot and cold running water.

“We want to express our sincere thanks to you and the Fall Family Weekend staff for an amazing weekend! We have all had smiles on our faces and overflowing hearts since pulling out of the parking lot on Sunday.”
